i lie awake the night’s on the floorboards i step on a creak i get trapped in your hair i’m a canoeist your trouble’s my trouble and when they catch you i turn myself in baby run-run baby run-run baby run-run baby run-run i hear myself talking i’m wrapped round your finger it’s hot and it’s cold and it is loose round my neck i’m a ventriloquist you’re deep in my body my mouth doesn't open you can’t walk out on me cause there's something between us is there something between us is there something between us is there something between us i’m a canoeist your trouble’s my trouble and when they catch you i turn myself in

good people 03:34
i’ve got a worry that is why i can’t sleep it will not leave my mind won’t leave my mind alone never heard of good people i’ve got a thorn got a big thorn in my side wish someone could rather soon someone could pull it out long shadows on the ceiling my back’s against the wall we’re the monkey boys we bring the revolution the doors are open do make your way hold each other close be as good as gold or just good with olives fly where the crow flies where the trees grow and the days flow quietly and folks are lazy on a sunny afternoon here come the lonely Cinderellas they will knock you down and throw off a bridge

the world is in your hand got a bit attached to you i’m looking through your window you seem fine though i do not understand you feed me crumbles from your mind moments missing in your lives they are sweet and they are humble i’m glad you’re there and feeling very kind drip drip drip you’re falling to the ground i can stare you in the eye one by one i pick and you disappear throw me seeds that i can catch the nights you can’t forget a lot of ghosts in a lot of houses it’s the wine you say i talk too much i sip water in the gutter i give way to kicking boots a lot of souls roam lonely avenues dying leaves still hungry for a flutter i’m glad you’re there i’m glad you’re there glad you’re there glad you’re there
4.
here are the shoes that walked across the desert and into you the arms that held, the hands that wept and the lips that drew here is the line we crossed the peak we climbed with broken bones the book of love and that silly page we turned a million times and here’s the heart and it is cold it beats in vain the time’s run out on us that was alone to tell here is the heart and it is cold and in pain i do not sleep i do not hear you i’m slowly turning - turning into stone i do not sleep i do not feel you i do not move until i’m buried under snow i do not sleep i do not hear you my voice begins to sound a bit like yours here’s everything we said when the storm broke and caught us by surprise the sorries we said, the pains we meant the anger in your eyes here’s the moon under which we kissed where i’m standing now alone here are the places we sought and the floors we scraped for better times the world’s a wonderful place the world’s a wonderful place wonder - wonderful wonder - wonder
5.
you play with words say war means peace carve it into stone build up defeat you’re building bombs you play the fool and you put a gun in my little hands when i come home i find a hole good day i want my good life back a man who finds the sticking pole he walks across the dying souls wanna live wanna live in a gentle world where i do not need to hide behind a mask i’m gonna live gonna live in a gentle world man falls apart no blood was shed only flesh and bones and burning beds it knows no bounds it provides no guide might just carry me back to your praise a man who follows his heart of gold the money you’ve made sure that’s enough the lies you speak i look too deep good day i want my good life back no bullets fly no bombs are dropped in a gentle world won’t follow your trail into the ground wont help you up won’t hand you down i’m a gentle soul buried me in mud good day i won’t get my good life done

we have no bad dreams we do not need to sleep we don’t explain our ways nobody knows our names we like to move around we like to start again in the cities we feel alive the sky’s alight and new come out - come out and play in the city tell me all about it our ways are never deep our tastes are more profound the light remains the same we like to move around nobody knows the way we turn the wheel again

this is not a good place to land it would not be safe at all our engine searching high and low this time has run out of stars we were climbing up a hill every step a hundred years either way too long from home sailing round our favourite fears i’m going down another road no worn-out lane’s too far away my restless feet will leave no traces not till love finds me an answer nobody waits that long for you looking round the place seems empty people must have left for lunch at the bottom of the oceans any moment we’ll take the plunge this is not a good place to stay rumours have it food is rotten sailing round our favourite fears what they were we've long forgotten taking shelter between lumps of rock we’re not the ones we hoped to be in an alley on the final border we admire how things used to be
8.
must have been numb before i met you my heart was buried in a cage i was stuck in boots the size of towers would not emerge from underwater i did not know if i would find you i did not know where to look i couldn’t see the door was open i couldn’t see your big red eyes sitting in front of my autocue all i said had been on the news tales from magazines words don’t hurt if no one sees them tales from magazines broken sleep liquid daylight you’re telling me this is real life this is real life i don’t deny i lived off your kindness the breath i took from your salty lips was like a frog washed up the shore you showed my legs that they could walk i did not know If i would find you no clue where i would go without you this record will play forever i see my hand touches your skin and when dust gathers on our spines the wind will blow through our chambers

help me face the day help me sleep at night help me face the day help me find a bed help me face the day just like we knew we knew it would your love’s the same it keeps me waiting like we knew we knew it then things won’t stop they won’t stop hurting we knew it then the ground’s a long way down it will never break us the ground’s a long way down it will never break us the ground’s a long way down it will never break us the ground’s a long way down you don’t you don’t you don’t need to cry time is time is time is on your side are you building your little house on the other side of the mountains are you living on leaves and water do you belong to anyone do you cry yourself to sleep next time you’re near hear give us a call

about

Halma Bravo Greater London, UK

London based DIY art pop band with five albums under its belt. Richly textured tunes meet slightly off-kilter lyrics, or is it the other way around? Some highlights have been gathered on two recently released compilations: volume 1 contains the best instrumentals, volume 2 the best songs. All done in good taste and for the enjoyment of music. Since 2006. ... more
